Acts 2:42-47 gives us a snapshot of the early church. They experienced several things together. I sum these up using 5 Ws.

The “5 Ws” they experienced together as a church community might easily – and edifyingly – become a Vision to guide any church community today. On July 20th 2013, the Special Session of our Trinity Annual Conference will consider adopting these 5 Ws as a Vision to guide our joint efforts over at least the next quadrennium. We want to be a Conference of churches that promotes disciples of Christ who are committed to:
1. the Word of God: where disciples learn and share the wisdom of the Bible with each other
2. the Worship of God: where disciples desire and encourage communion (relationship) with God through prayer and organised worship
3. the Welcome of God: where disciples receive and share God’s warmth and pastoral care to the church and community
4. the Witness of God: where disciples accept their roles as faithful witnesses to God’s love and good news
5. the Wonder of God: where disciples experience God’s wonderful acts of physical, spiritual and emotional healing through both prayers and physicians
A church could do far worse than ordering life around these Ws. Let’s encourage each other to do no worse.
